My dear brothers, we have come to the end of our time together here in Taize’, this place of sacred pilgrimage, ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, the dialogue of cultures and languages, the dialogue of particular understandings and experiences of prayer, of Eucharist, of fraternity and community. Repeating the words of the Austrian/German writer Rainer Marie Rilke: “How have you lived the question(s)” these days?” To ask how about how you have ‘lived the question(s)’ presupposes that you came to this sacred hillside with a question. Perhaps you also came with some mixed feelings about your life as a consecrated religious, a Friar Minor.
